Crusoe in Abilene

The home of
next-gen AI

The project

Our Abilene campus is the flagship project of the $500M Stargate investment in American AI — a cutting-edge data center built to power the technology Americans use every day. Why Abilene? It features abundant wind energy, available land, a strong workforce, and community-first spirit.

How we build responsibly

  • Renewable, affordable wind power is plentiful in Abilene, letting us run the data center without straining the local grid.

  • Advanced natural gas turbines with cutting-edge emissions control provide cleaner backup power.

  • Closed-loop cooling systems recirculate water for up to 15 years after the initial fill, with no water evaporation during normal operations.

  • No water evaporates during normal operations, significantly reducing our water consumption.

The Crusoe expansion at the Lancium Clean Campus represents a new era of innovation for Abilene. These positions will allow families to build their futures right here in West Texas.

The Crusoe commitments

When we select a site for a data center, we plan to be part of that community for a long time. Our goal is to be the kind of neighbor, employer, and partner that communities welcome — by acting responsibly and being transparent from the very beginning.

Energy
We pay our
own way for
power.

We cover our onsite power generation and any required infrastructure upgrades to avoid passing costs on to our neighbors. Our facilities utilize  a diverse portfolio of energy resources that can help support the grid during periods of stress.

Water
Our facilities minimize water usage.

Our advanced closed-loop cooling systems consume virtually no water during normal operations. That enables a 200MW Crusoe data center to use less water annually than 10 average US households.

Jobs
We prioritize hiring local residents.

Our projects create high-paying construction and permanent jobs, and we offer those positions to our host communities first. We also work with regional vocational programs and form workforce development partnerships with local school districts.

Investment
Our projects boost the local economy.

Crusoe data center projects
can deliver up to $1 billion in local economic impact over
20 years. The additional tax revenue we provide helps
fund local schools, emergency services, career training, water infrastructure, and roads.

Good Neighbor
We are transparent and accountable.

We work with communities
to spell out our commitments and ensure that our current and future partners will honor them too. We follow strict environmental standards. And we assign a dedicated community liaison to
address any concerns.
